How We Do It

Applicant Selection

Our Board recognizes and understands the strategic importance of technology in our future. We work closely with Virginia high schools and colleges to select the most qualified applicants using the below criteria. We are committed to ensuring and promoting opportunities for Virginia high school and college students to pursue degrees in the technology field.

  • Academic Achievement - weighted GPA, SAT or ACT score
  • Financial Need
  • Leadership - including community service, work experience, extracurricular activities.
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • 250–500-word essay describing themselves, their academic and career goals
